ARRI, Association Réalités et Relations Internationales, brings together people who are committed to promoting a better understanding of international relations if only because their evolution impacts our daily life. The basic principle of the association is respect for all peoples, in all their diversity.
European integration and globalization are deeply modifying human relations, economic prospects and the geopolitical landscape. ARRI gives people the opportunity to understand what is at stake and the consequences of these changes.
The association focuses in particular on European integration. All ten new member countries have been visited in the course of the fact-finding missions led by ARRI in recent years. Many of the events organized by the association deal with the efforts to ensure the successful integration of Europe. Since 2005, ARRI has been a member of the Mouvement Européen France.
Created in 1973, ARRI counts some 800 members today, up from 450 in 2000. This growth is the result of individual membership and mergers with other associations like the Cercle franco-allemand de Paris.
ARRI’s mode of operation has two main features:
- Working with the chairman, Jean-Michel Fauve, and secretary general, Jean-Pierre Baret, a team of volunteers is charged with specific activities such as planning conference series, organizing fact-finding missions, editing publications, tracking foreign media and managing the web site.
- The associations that join ARRI continue to work in their specific area of expertise. For instance, Club Europe centralizes all issues relating to European integration.
